Millbrae is a city found in San Mateo County, California, just west of San Francisco Bay and on the south sits Burlingame while the north is bordered by San Bruno. The city’s land was bought early in the 1860s by Darius Ogden Mills from the Sanchez Family with the aim of building a country estate. The former mill's estate was bordered by what is known today as Skyline Boulevard. The name Millbrae was derived from “Mills” and the Scottish word “Brae.” Situated just southwest of SFO, the city has an upper-middle-class neighborhood. The city doesn’t have that much going on in terms of nightlife and other social activities but does have an ideal neighborhood for studies and a family-friendly environment. Millbrae is a perfect place for anyone in search of a safe and affordable neighborhood with good schools such as the Mills High School, Taylor Middle School, and the Cappuccino high school. Residents are offered a wide range of restaurants like the Millbrae Pancake house, Leonardo’s Deli Café, and Peter’s Café.Millbrae benefits from having more sunny days than other cities around. Overall the city is affordable relative to the rest of the Bay Area with a few neighborhoods with homes in the millions. The city’s residential area is made up of over a dozen neighborhoods with the most appealing quarters found along the San Mateo Hills where the city offers an amazing panoramic view of the San Francisco Bay. Newer and good looking homes can also be found west of Green Hills Country Club.
