Menlo Park is a city that sits at the edge of San Mateo County, California along the San Francisco Bay area. The city has a beautiful tree-lined neighborhood with an active commercial district. Menlo Park has a moderately warm climate with nearly 265 sunny days a year.The city got its name back in 1854 when two Irishmen J. Oliver and D.C. McGlynn bought 1,700 acres bordering County Road now known as El Camino Real. They built two houses with an entrance and erected a huge wooden gate with the name of their estate printed in foot-high letters “MENLO PARK” with a date on it, August 1854. The city is now known to be one of the most educated cities found in the state of California. Almost 75% of the city’s residents over the age of 25 are in possession of either a bachelor’s degree or higher qualifications.Residents of Menlo Park have a wide range of backgrounds which has played a vital role in the city building and they’re actively engaged in community lifestyle. The city is home to some excellent public and private schools which have served the community and its families. The city offers several recreational activities and parks for residents and the city’s close proximity to the Menlo College and Stanford University has played a role in the city’s high educational level. Arts and leisure activities of other urban areas in San Francisco and San Jose are sited just close by, giving residents of Menlo Park an additional advantage. Located in the Heart of Menlo Park are some unique shops and restaurants. All the mentioned activities are a result of the city’s quality and high living standard.Menlo Park is home to Facebook’s main campus which has brought about the growth of the area’s local real estate market. The Menlo Park downtown area is known to attract visitors. The city is well placed to benefit and help shape new technologies and markets coming from the Silicon Valley.
